Concepts of Educational Technology

The wonder and enjoyment of lifelong learning  is the most important gift you can give a person. School can either make or break this for most people and we as teachers and parents cannot forget the impact we have. Without creating environments that foster creatively overcoming academic challenges to learn and improve, we lose our chance to inspire the next generation to dream and pursue a life of discovery and thoughtful problem solving.

Before we can make a change in others education, we must look at our own ideas, passions, and experiences in our own education. Our experiences and passions should be used to drive the change in our education system. We need to be open to our own challenges and negative experiences so that we can build a better environment for those we are responsible for now.

Growth Mindset

Not only have I seen a huge improvement of myself when I set on a path of honing the growth mindset for my own learning and professional growth, I have seen this passed to my students as well. I had talked to students about being open to trying new things even if they may fail with little change in their attitudes and mentalities. However, when I started modeling this kind of mindset and not necessarily giving direct lessons and lectures about it I saw a huge change in the way my students talked about their personal struggles. Learning Manifesto

Learning is a lifelong journey and we are always learning new information in some way, especially now in the digital age where there is so much knowledge that can be accessed instantly. While informal knowledge is powerful, formal knowledge is necessary at times and everyone needs to know how they learn. Learning is truly a process and there is a system in which we must reach our students with relevant information in a way that they feel is truly important. Today, we as educators and parents are struggling to make adolescents see school and learning as important because they think they will never need the knowledge as they can always look it up or watch a TikTok about it.
